Bowls to that....

Jackie Boardman was diagnosed with asthma in her forties. She says she lost her job as a nurse because of it – "I was having more days off sick than I was working. It was an awful time and I felt like I was on the scrap heap."

Jackie’s not one to sit around, so she decided the best way forward was to stay positive and find something to keep her motivated. She chose Crown Green bowling and belly dancing! Whilst she wouldn’t let us see her dance, she did invite us to her local bowling green.

Jackie says being a club member has been so important to her, it gets her out of bed and stops her feeling sorry for herself, "It has certainly bucked me up, and if you don’t feel bucked up, you get told to buck up."
